    Will a Buick 350 dizzy drop into a 225? with a new cap obviously?

    Physically, it should drop right in but t's going to fire 8 times per revolution so the engine isn't going to run.

    So the gear on the shaft is wrong for the 225?

    No, the reluctor wheel on the shaft is going to have 8 positions, because it comes out of a V8.

    Pretty sure the reluctor is welded to the shaft. It would be unlikely that you could buy a shaft separate from a complete distributor.
