So I'm starting to put the floor in and I'm not sure how it is all supported. I am putting in new supports and pans. Are the supports suppressed to be attached to the body sides?

I recommend you watch metalshaper on You Tube. His name is Brian Hainer. He is a vintage Jeep expert and builds them by hand. My floor was completely gone and I fabricated everything including hat channel supports and some body panels myself after watching him do it. Won’t say they are near as good as his, but it gave me the courage to go after it. He has lots of tub repair videos including floor supports.

I'll see what he shows. I have no problem making anything, I've just never even looked at a Jeep. Now if it was an early bronco I could build you one in my sleep.

A Jeep has half as much body so it should be easy.

Are the "supports" what we refer to as the hat channels? The hat channels are welded to the floor pans, and the outer edges of the floor pans are welded to the lower edge of the body side/rocker, with about 3/8" lip. The hat channels don't quite extend to the lower body edge/rocker, unless you have a flat-fender Jeep where the hat channel runs past the body side to support the fender extension.
