Well, I think I am going to jump in with both feet and buy the Sagi Pwr Steering kit from Herm and give it a try. I was looking at the Summit website last night at their adjustable (front to rear) brackets, but they only have applications for Chevy small blocks. I assume from all of the posts on the subject that Chevy brackets will not work on Buick engines, but thought I would ask the experts just in case. Seems like a pretty slick setup, but a bit pricey.

Has anyone used his bracket before? If so, what is your opinion? I like having the gearbox back farther than the conventional swap setup.

    Thanks.

I just installed my old dauntless power steering pump on my chevy 350 motor, and no the brackets are not the same, Bolt hole are completely different. the only reason I used this one is my other power steering pump is set up with all the hoses to run my hydraulic assist power brakes from the chevy diesel truck I removed them from. But now than I think about it, It might be a better idea to use the chevy pump, and just fabricate new lines untli I am ready for brakes swap, At least I wouldnt have alot to change out when I do the swinging pedal conversion and go to the power brakes????? Humm, kinda got off track there, but the answer to your question is no the bolt pattern is not the same. I can take a picture of the setup you need. It is currently on my jeep.

    Chris,
Thanks a bunch for the help. I pretty much figured as much, but thought I would ask anyway. I guess I will make a run to the local junkyard to see if I can dig up an old Buick bracket that will work. Working on these things is always an adventure.......
    Thanks,
    Rob

    66CJ5,
Thanks also for the assist. I'm planning on making a day of scrounging the local junkyards around Memphis on Saturday. 84 Regal sounds a bit easier to find than a 74 Skylark. Can't wait to feel that power steering!

I installe dpower steering on mine and i love it. Only tough part was getting a high pressure hose. I had the flexible rubber portion made at Napa with pressure fittings for my stainless lines. Just insert the lines, and tighten them up. Worked beautifully. i did not want to cut the grill to put the origional hose that came on the box thru it.
