Hey. I got a center console that I'm trying to get out and it won't budge. I got the back 4 screws out but there are two in the front that are stripped and won't budge. Any ideas or tips to get them out?
Also what is the best way to fix floor boards? The drivers side is okay I think but the passenger side and rear are rusted out. I was planning on ripping out all the carpet, fixing the floor boards all around and recarpeting the whole thing.
    Anything helps.

Eh...kinda it depends I think. My TJ is full carpet kit, 20 years old and no rust issues.

But it's mostly a garage queen, and not likely to be driven in deep mud or water.

You can try using an Easy Out or similar device, but I've had limited success using those. Otherwise get a drill bit a little smaller than the screw's shaft and drill through the center of the head until it comes out.

Lots I don't know about this rig...;)

I had carpet in my CJ6 too. Lightweight black stuff from Lowes. I didn't own it long enough to see what happened, but IMHO if you don't get the interior wet or live where it's really humid I think carpet is an OK option.

I've had good luck with left-hand threaded drill bits. Works like an easy out

Left handed drill bits are the only thing that has worked for me.

I agree with Doug, carpet is like cigarettes for your jeep. Feels good in the short term but long term leads to car cancer.

Sounds like I should try a reverse drill bit. IuI will try that this weekend. For the floor would something like truck bed liner paint work? I was looking at that and seems like it could work good.
    Thanks for all the replys

I'm not a bed liner fan. It's a pain if you need to change or weld something. I like a nice paint job and thick rubber mats that are removable. Next set may be a horse stall mat from Tractor Supply then you cut it to size.

This is what I did, only it was an old pickup truck bed mat.
