Dumb question. I just bought a 69 CJ in Utah ($1200). Anyway I know nothing about Jeeps and this is going to be my learning project.
It has a second gas tank added in the rear and the normal one under the seat. I'm trying to get it running (I know it has one bad cylinder) but I want to see what it sounds like so I know were to start looking (valve, piston, etc.) It will sputter with gas poured down the carb but I want to test the fuel pump. Where is it? Is it inside the stock tank? Notes in the manual say there is a transfer pump to pump from rear to front. There is gas in the stock tank. This vehicle has the V-6 motor.

Should be on the front of the engine on the drivers side down low.

if its not there, someone may have installed an inline electric pump. Follow the fuel lines from the tank to the engine and you should find it. Unless someone put it in the tank which is very unlikely.

below the distributor on driver side, if there is an electric fuel pump, then you should see where they used a plate to cover where the mechanical pump would be on the engine, also are you in utah as well or did you just purchase from there? I live in ut and was jsut wondering....
