My title lists mine as a '68 also, but I have the single MC. Could have been changed but who would do that sort of butchery?

Interesting. If we are both original that should put the changover from top to bottom mount between 238757 and 242318.

The 68 model year is the year that the dual m/c was implemented. I can't think of any reason to swap that for a single m/c, and besides, the way the single m/c bracket is mounted it would be extraordinarily difficult to do and the parts needed would not have been available.

The bottom mount wipers don't really tell the story. I have a CJ6A in the shop right now (1965) that has bottom mounted wipers. It takes about 3 minutes to swap windshield frames from top mount to bottom. A little longer if you include windshield wiper switch.
