t18 questions

All,

This weekend is the big weekend. The swap starts on Sat. I wont get done this weekend though. Yes I plan on taking pics. Here is my question. The combo is a t18/dana 20 tcase and I cant remember which way the seal lip should face on the adapter. From the tsm diagrams it looks like it should face away from the tranny, but I would like a little confirmation from some of you experts. My second question is about the speedo gear spacer. I am not seeing the logic behind puttting a seal on the spacer and having no seal between the output shaft and speedo spacer/output gear. Wouldn't oil just migtrate along the shaft and out the tranny? Should I seal the speedo spacer and the output gear to the shaft with super black sillycone?
