Cheap Gauges

    Anyone have any luck with these ? Thinking on putting u. My willys truck . I'm having a brain fart about putting these in front of steering wheel and a radio in the original spot

    DO NOT USE a cheapo ammeter!
    I almost burned my 65 GTO to the ground one day when the ammeter shorted out.

    I would not use any ammeter, given the choice. Cars with automotive ammeters send all the charging current to the dash and back to the battery - through the firewall and back - this is problematic. Better to use a voltmeter and keep the heavy-current wire under the hood.

    Most of these Jeeps came from the factory with a fuel and temperature gauge, and no more. You got an amp and oil light, which works fine in lieu of the amp and oil gauges.
