Is there an online diagram or pic for a clutch cable on a 70 CJ5 225 V6? Mine goes from the clutch lever, to a bracket, around a floor support, to another bracket ,to the clutch pedal shaft. Looks kinda home made with a heater hose wrapped around it where it goes around the floor support.

I can take a pic of my setup tomorrow if you like. It's mostly as you describe.

Yea that would be great. The heater hose part threw me a curve. Is it normally used to shield the clutch cable? Just finished up with a resurfaced flywheel, new pilot bushing, clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, fork, and stud so now Im checking out the clutch cable assembly. The old relaese bearing was installed incorrectally acording to the manual so hopefully with all this new stuff Ill be moving again! Well until the next part breaks

I don't think so. My cable is just fastened to the floor support with a bare clip. I don't think it serves any purpose other than keeping the cable from flapping around. Does the clip look like one those used for electrical cable and having a hose like insulator?

Make sure the clamp is in good condition. Mine broke a few weeks ago and it allowed the cable to "shift" when the clutch was depressed. Actually had to start with tranny in gear and "speed shift" to get back from the mall. Replaced it with a rubber insullated clamp from Home Depot, and it shifts like new. My .02...

my cable runs from the clutch pedal to a bracket welded on the frame to allow the cable to slide throught its sheath around a floor support to another bracket thats about 8 inches or so away from the clutch fork that allows the cable to slide through the sheath to the fork. I had a bracket puul entirely off the frame once while i was driving to the trail, luckily it was only a block away from my house, we welded on a "L" piece of iron a drilled a hole in it and cut a space out of the side to slide the cable through and it works perfect.
