I have to assume the original 52 F-134 color from the factory was black. I have seen F-heads painted blue (I believe someone on this board has one), and some red. I will most likely go original black and paint sometime late May or June.

Everything should be tight after the rebuild, but was concerned with future oil leaks if I went with blue. Your opinions would be appreciated . Thanks.

You're right, a blue engine will always leak oil R) I went with red / black when I redid mine, just to match the future color scheme. Almost all early ones I've seen were originally black.

Didn't we cover this extensively a while back in the restoration section?

Different colors for different compression ratios, etc.?

The search was a good idea, along with the opinions of SIDSCJ and Billy. Thanks.

At the risk of sounding like I'm volunteering, perhaps someone could write this up for the tech section?
