    I am in process of restoring a very early 1972 model cj5 , in trying to return vehicle to stock, does anyone know of the differences over the years. Pictures I have seen show the shape of the mirrors to be more rectangle in shape than my 86 cj7, any insight would be appreciated

    Were there differences thru that yr's model year also i.e. early vs late production 1972

    Yes, rectangular with embossed "X". I know of no source for anything similar.
