Thinking about using Powerstick chambered muffler pipes on my son's '69 CJ5 Dauntless with Hedman fenderwell headers. Considered pipes are 22" long, 2 " inlet and outlet. Probably would have the outlet just in front of the rear tire. Anyone using these and have any feedback, especially the noise level or sound?

Not familiar with the powerstick. I ran same with glasspacks and after 5 years couldn't stand it any more. Took it to the local exhaust shop and they put on what they call torque tubes which look like glasspacks but are not a straight shot thru, they are much quieter and I am very happy with them.

I use the cheap Turbo mufflers with my Hedmans. Get them @ Pep Boys or similar, about $20 each. Get a couple 90* turn outs so they exit right in front of the rear wheel. Much quieter than Cherry Bombs, and cheap to replace if you damage them. I avoid the collector flange gasket problem by running Header Buddys:

A powerstick is still a glasspack and not a spark arresting muffler, which makes it illegal for use on USFS land and most states land.

Good point on the spart arrestor aspect. You could try using another type of muffler like Gibson. Its just a 6 in round muffler and about 24" or so. Basicly it is a round turbo muffler. The question again are they USFS approved.

USFS doesn't approve and stamp automotive mufflers, but the requirement is that they be of a spark arresting design - basically not straight through. Something like the gibson bullets, spintechs, turbo mufflers are all considered spark arresting.
