How many people use wheel spacers?

My tires are tucked in fine, just thinking for stability. How many of you use them , and what is the feed back? I currently have 12" rims , I think the extra space might help in the weight shift being more stable.

I don't have any yet, but I want some, might stop some of the rubbing of my tires on my front springs at full turn

    Hey Patrick,

I made a set (looks identical to those) and are on a drum braked Dana 27 front, we can't keep the nuts holding the spacer to the drum tight... Have you ever had this problem? Do you use lock-nuts for this connection?

Never had a problem. After I first put them on, I re torqued them after a week or so, and they took very little to tighten back up to 90 lb.ft. I've checked them several times since, and they have been tight.
I just use regular lug nuts.....

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure wha the deal is then, other than the fact we have nylocs sucking the spacer up to the drum instead of lug nuts. I will have to re-drill the outer hole larger to accomdate for a 13/16" socket-sized lug nut. Maybe that 'll work.
    Thanks anyway,
    Ty

Are the nuts you're using tapered, and are the holes tapered?

Interesting point. Ya, the holes are tapered (due to the drill bit) but the nyloc nuts are flat on the mounting side...this might be the problemo! I think over sizing the outer hole and using lug nuts will probably work (taper to taper).
    Thanks

Isn't $200 for a set or 4 a little high. Are there other manufacturers?

Nope, $200 is pretty much what they cost - actually on the cheap side of the spectrum. I've been running a pair of 1.25" spacers for years and never had a problem with them loosening up.
