For the people who have hardtops how do you store them during the summer? I have where people have built racks for TJs that can hold everything including the doors.

You could build a rack on casters to hold it and the doors. Most would lift it on and off using a pulley system from the ridge in their garage ... or you might have a few friends that can help you lift it on and off, every year.

Right now I'm storing it in the back of my Spencer trailer. But the rack on casters sounds like a good idea. It wouldn't be so bad removing it if the roof section wasn't so heavy.

Home depot has a steel mini scaffold on rollers for about a hundred bucks. Put some boards across it and it would work. I got a small chain hoist at Harbor Freight. But I never take it off. Just the doors.

Like Tim mentioned, I had a pulley setup rigged in the garage for the top on my Scout. Back it in, lift it straight up, and tie off the rope on the wall for the summer. It was a tiny garage that the Scout barely fit into, so when I backed it in every night, the top was only a few inches above, but it fit like a glove.

Mine sits on a pallet leaned up against a tree. I stack the doors, then liftgate, sides then top leaned so it pretty much covers the other pieces from rain.
I usually prop the top up at the back when i pull the sides. Then slide the top off the back using the roll bar hoop. Still a.pain but worth not having the top on all summer

It is so difficult to get the front sealed that it is pretty rare to find someone take the top off more then once. Usually once it is on, it stays on that Jeep.

Only reason i put the hard top on is to get me a couple more weeks driving per year and keep the snow out in the winter. No wipers yet so avoid driving any time it might leak:D

I don't drive it in the rain the only reason I have a hardtop is so I can drive it during the winter.
