f-head air assemly

Just wondering where to come by the orginal air assembly with oil bath.
There is one in the jcw catalog, listed for the early L-head in mb,cj2a,cj3a. Is this the same thing?
I'm also wondering if having no air filter at all would cause motor to studder as I press the accelerator.

I believe early ones are different. I may be headed to a Willys boneyard this Saturday, I can look for you if you want. I have one spare, needs a bottom cup and clamp. Yours for shipping $$ if you want it. No air cleaner won't make your engine stutter upon accel, what carb is on it? Look down the throat when its not running and crack the throttle. See how much fuel your accel pump is putting out. Check timing too. What year is your JEEP? Welcome aboard and post up some pics!!!!

 

thank you sidscj, If you come across a complete assembly I would be interested. My jeep is a 61 cj5 with a solex carb.
I will check for the fuel amount tonight.
