I Can't Leave Well Enough Alone

I remember that sound,but the ones family had were belt driven,fasinated me as a kid,

 

Just out of curiosity, did you ever plow with the two 16s? That's a lot of moldboard for a 3000# tractor.

 

No I didn't. I sold those first chance I had. It pulled the smaller 14 no problem. I still have to make the depth gauge for it. Its basically an adjustable spindle that the spare tire bolts to and rides on the ground.

 

I managed to save the original cold air duct clamps from Snowshoe and put them on the farm jeep. They sure look correct for it!



And I put some of the governor linkage on as well that I got from Howard. It will be so nice having a governor on this jeep!

I rebuilt the governor and put that all together. I had to do a little custom fab work. I tig welded a new cable on using silicon bronze rod.



and then I had to do some custom machining and welding to the new pulley.



And now that it is all bolted in, I’m a little stumped on how the cable was routed. Howard sent me a picture of the handle on the dash, but in order to do that, it pulls at a really bad angle. To make the cable pull straight, it would have to go through the fire wall just under the big grommet for the harness and choke cable. But then the heater is in the way on the other side.
