Does anyone run the DUI??? I've heard it is the best mod to make. I'd like to know if anyone here runs one. I'm not going to go junk yarding to find an old Chevy HEI and change the gear, I'm going to buy the DUI and be done with it if it is the best.
Any comments or thought would be appreciated
    thanks

Best upgrade you can make on a 258. I did the junkyard thing but if I was going to do it again, I'd go with the DUI. You end up spending about the same with a junkyard unit after you buy new coils, bushing etc.

What do you have against junk yards? ;) I haven’t installed mine yet, but there should be others that have.

    I love my DUI!

The best part of the install was removing all of the duraspark wiring. It really cleaned up the engine compartment.

Junkyard it? Sure, if you are adventurous. I like pretty colors (And warranties), so I went with the DUI.

Mugzilla, your engine compartment looks clean, nice work.

I spent a total of $20 at the bone yard for a GM distributor and AMC 360 drive gear.

It was a long, cold winter that year, so I took my time and made it pretty. Now I am afraid to get her dirty!

I don't have anything against junk yards, but I don't have the time or knowledge of old Chevy's to know what to look for. As soon as I have the cash, I'm buying a DUI.
    Thanks guys

I am running a DUI. I just got back from its first real test in Moab. put over 300 miles on the CJ in the course of a week. We did everything from 60 MPH highway to extremely slow hardcore trails. The engine ran perfectly and had plenty of power.

Thanks for the input guys. That will definitely be the first thing I buy when it comes time. My Jeep is currently registered under my dad's name and sits in a garage unused. He and I built it when I was in High school. Now ten years later, I'm ready to buy it and make it a daily driven rig. There are a few issue to work out, ignition being one.
    Thanks again
