My new to me Jeep died the other weekend and finally got around to figuring out what's wrong. Turns out the crankshaft timing gear was broken in two. I've already ordered a new timing set but I noticed that the part of the woodruff key was sheared off (not pictured). I saw some available online but none seemed to match this engine exactly. Any suggestions where I could get a new one?

Any replies would be much appreciated!

The woodruff key is broken as well (not pictured), do you know where I could find one of those? Thanks.

Any reasonably well stocked hardware store will have what you need.

Before you find a new Key..........I would be more interested to understand what caused that gear to shear the key off?......Might be symptoms of a much larger problem.

Agreed - that I've only seen that in motors with bent rods and such from hydro locking a motor that rolled.

Why that happened would be real bothersome to me.

If you don't find and fix the problem while you're in there , you'll be back in there again. Good luck!
