just out of curiosity, how many if you guys replace your leftys with rightys? Originally I was going to keep the concept but now thinking twice about it.

    Well... You know I did.

I did it to avoid forgetting and IF someone other than me ever worked on it, they wouldn't ruin them.

The hard part is getting the right studs, I found them in the auto parts store after looking in the drawers. Take one with you and make sure you get the right size and length spline there are a lot of them. Good luck.

The real question is why arent some broke off already. Every junker I have ever owned had some broke off. They all get replaced. Something to remember though is that they might loosen up over time so you want to check them once in a while

I replaced them because of the expected issues. Kept them on my 2 military trucks.

I'm leaning towards that just to avoid possible issues from someone else in the future.

Pretty rare to find a guy at a tire store that has ever seen a left hand stud before.

I'm a purist. Gotta keep the true Jeep tradition alive!

Knowledge of the leftie studs is kind of like a secret password to ID real Jeepers.

    I'm a "Purethusiast":

Yup - I only changed about half of them... then I found a cheap way to do it. Have a tire shop put new tires on - they would then replace them after stripping with impact :D

I keep a set of new LH studs on the shelf just for such an occasion.

So if you go with some sort of disc conversion, can you get the correct length in left?

I did. After having learned, the hard way, they were backwards. I had the 'oh hell no' moment, and yanked them all and pressed in regulars.

There is no logical reason to use a left. Only nostalgia.

But if I want to take 'Willie' to pebble beach and have a real chance to win, won't they count off for having the wrong studs? I'm sure they won't count off for having disc or dual master cylinder.
