accordind to the price of a kubota or bobcat i wonder if parts and work to adapt my cj5 is available.
It can be done by my local farming machine shop.
    I need :
    cutting the grass
pushing scrapping the ground to make alleys
digging holes to plant small trees
carrying sand or stones or contruction materials
all this on my property maybe i can add a tool to cut hay.
I don t need a full automatic system I can change parts when I have work to do if not too heavy.

It's not impossible but the devices specifically designed for Jeeps to perform these functions are now very rare & prices are being driven up by collectors.

Certainly you can fit a power take off to you jeep & install a modern three point hitch however that would require modifications to the rear floor. Of course even with that you'd still need to purchase the implements like a mower deck, post hole digger etc.

My advise would be to keep an eye out for a used tractor & equipment.

Yes of course but this is expensive. In my area there are at least 2 shops working on farming machines tractors etc, I know them, they make adaptations all the time.
A Jeep is an engine and transmissions and I don't need high speed. The engine is more powerful than many small tractors.
But finding parts in France is probably impossible. Adapting, they know but what price?
Old materil to cut the grass are not expensive, they are slow but I am not in a hurry!

We get a lot requests over at farmjeep.com for information on how to how to turn a modern jeep into a farm jeep. I have a blog post planned on the subject, but haven't gotten around to writing it yet. My bottom line is to get a small used tractor, like a Ford 8N, for the hydraulic work and use the jeep for everything else. To do the work you are describing, you don't need a modern, expensive, compact tractor. 8Ns and other small tractors of the same era were the jeep's main competitors and are fun and easy to work on.

Having said that, there are 2" receiver hitch to 3 point hitch adapters, like this one sold by Summit. I don't have any information on how it might work. You can do a search and find others, all of which cost several hundred dollars and many are made for ATV's so are CAT0 vs CAT1, which you would want. I was also working with a guy who wanted to rig a hydraulic PTO. Again possible, but not cheap.

First my apologies to Alan28 for not noting your location. Didn't even pick it up with the shop pictures, since I own a New Holland tractor. So while my suggestion that you look for a Ford 8N may not applicable, I'd talk to the NH folks about an older tractor with similar specifications. I still think that is the best approach.

We did post to the our blog Farm Jeep: Can I build a farm jeep using my Wrangler? We gave the same advice, but did find a possible 3 point lift solution here Not sure it would be cost effective to ship to you, but the design is pretty simple and your shop might be able to duplicate it. I would be concerned about the stress on the frame and you would need some weight on the front.

The major hurdle is the PTO. You will need that for mowing. I don't know when the PTO option was dropped from the CJ5. I'm hoping someone here can educate me. On the early jeeps, the PTO is driven off the end of the transmission. The shaft extended to the rear where the gear box was located. When the gas tank was moved from under the seat, the path for the PTO was blocked. I also don't know if the transmission/transfer case in would accept the PTO shifter.

Let us know what you came up with.

I don't know what the availability of these is like, but we picked one of these sickle bar mowers up for cheap at an auction once because nobody there knew what it attached to.

It mounted on the side of the jeep and ran drive belts off the grooves in the parking brake drum. No PTO needed. It had a big handle to lift it from the driver's seat. We re-sold it before we ever tried it, so I can't vouch for its performance. I'm sure a worthy fabricator could even modify a standard sickle bar to work like this.

This is the closest picture I could find that resembles what we had.
