Dana 30 Gear Ratio?

    I bought this Dana 30 awhile back with the intention of swapping it with my Dana 27. The seller told me it was 4.88 gears which is what I needed. Here is what is stamped on the ring gear. Is this 4.88? It has 39 teeth.

    Those are 4:88 gears. Divide 39 by 8 (39/8) =4.875. Round up to 4.88.

    The 377 number is match marks for the ring and pinion. The pinion will have 377 stamped or engraved on it somewhere so you know you are a matched set.
