I am trying to figure out what kind of bikini top I can run on my CJ5, now that I have the rollcage modified, with the rear hoop, and spreaders. The traditional type ones won't fit because they were designed to be used for the downbar (angled down) off of the main hoop.
Does anyone think the style from these newer (TJ's or YJ's) Jeeps would work? What is the windshield frame width, and method of securing the front of the top on these models?
I would think even if the top is slightly wide, as long as I can get the right length, I should be fine :? Kinda something to go all the way to the rear hoop. Maybe fasten with velcro straps or whatever.

See what the measurement differences are between the TJ/ YJ cages and yours, and then decide. Personally, I don't like the Bikini tops to fit too loose at the corners because the flapping annoys me; so I would look into having a boat top mfg price it out. Just my .02.

Get something custom made that attaches to the cage only. I can't imagine it would be that hard or expensive.

Kicking it around for SSDutch at some point too.

I like the versions I see in the supplier magazines that are sorta see-through. Have thought about buying 2 and taking them to a boat/upholstery shop and have 1 big one made up for the 6.

I have seen folks use the webbing used to re-web folding chairs
weave a pattern to your liking
    color cordinated even
nothing but the best for the Queen

I got tired of the flapping and after a tree accidentaly tore more last one up I went ahead and just used some sheet metal. No flapping and I can fold the windshield down and still have it on. I also don't have to take it off when the softtop is on. Doesn't answer your question, but its another option.

I did the same conversion/extension on the roll cage, got to protect the kiddies too. I took my old "bikini top" to an auto upholstery shop and showed them what I wanted. Cost me $40.00.

I would look at a bikini for an '88-96 wrangler. Should still have the windshield channel and attaches to the roll bar with velcro.
