I have mine on the steering colum. Easy to see, don't have to take the eyes off where you are going.

Don't have one, my motor never runs fast enough and I'm not racing.
Don't get me wrong here I just haven't been able to justify the price for a nice Autometer or VDO and I don't want cheap gauges. Now when I get me a new dash panel and do it right I might put one in the dash.;)

I used to have one up in the corner of the rollcage, but never felt it was accurate (summit brand). Not sure if SSDutch will get one - trying to keep the dash simple.

I mounted on on the steering column, I'd like to mount it in the dash when I get a new dash, but that is a big hole saw to purchase for only one use

JC Whitney $20 special in the dash. Cut the hole with a metal scrool blade on a jigsaw, but I had the dash out anyway so it was easy. The cheap tach has worked great by the way.

I might consider a 2" one - I don't use the tach enough to have it be in my face.

Try a tree panning tool much cheaper, can be resharpened and will cut a range of holes from about 1 1/2" to 6" in diameter. Works much better with a cheap drill press but can be used in a hand drill.

I have a Sun Mini Tach like Baby John's, but with the black face. It's mounted on top of the steering column. Good visibility and out of the way.

Mike you can get one from www.mscdirect.com
If you are interested I can get you the part# thru the main catalog at work, easier to find in the 3100 page book than searching the website. J&L tool, Traverse tool & supply, Mcmaster Carr and various others. I have an old one that my father made somewhere around here.

Did anybody notice Johns oil pressure in the pic, especially considering its idleing.;)

As long as I know that they're not so hard to find I'm good. Got some dash work on the horizon, and the cost of hole saws always rubs my Dutch grain the wrong way....;)

I've never used one of those tools but I've seen them @ plain old hardware stores. Probably not as good as something a tool and die maker would use, but probably good enough for a single hole or maybe a dozen.

I just used a hole saw for the small guages and a jig saw for the speedo.

Did anyone notice the volt meter. Not ammeter that's what Nixon had in it when I got him, the volt meter.

It always registers 14 volts. Think that may be a circumstance of the one wire conversion?

I noticed the 66 miles on the odometer :D

What would you expect the voltmeter to read? 14 is whatcha want methinks.
