I got an OE bottom wiper windshield from B. Bob while out in CO. My aftermarket top wiper windshield went on the free Jeep (for now). I'm still not sure which one I prefer??

I cleaned up this one and put a fresh coat of paint on it. I had to order a new motor and wiper arms so it should work well.

Hey stakebed....is this a conversion from a single stick? if so, is it a direct bolt in? did you have to replace the T/C output housing? thanks

Having Jeeps with both styles, I find the bottom pivot wipers much less in the field of view when they are parked. The curved top bottom wiper windshield is even better for visibility.

Yes, a U pattern single stick.

No t/c mods. I did clearance the T18 to remove the old shifter assembly. The old seemed wedged tight against a transmission boss.
Also, I had to open up the already enlarged t/c shifter hole even further on the passenger side to make room for the front axle stick.

Bought what I could get..after 2 years in CO I'm pretty convinced that tread pattern isn't that important. Sidewall strength and " footprint" on airing down is more important. Loose forest floor in the east is a different story, but I don't risk " getting away with it" anymore
Can't hardly find a 10.5 tire out there in stock or without significant. backorder

I would agree...but there is also the variable of rubber compound - harder vs softer etc. In theory, softer also meaning 'stickier' or higher co-efficient of friction, and more likely found on MTs than ATs (many ATs have a guaranteed mileage usage which means a slightly harder compound). Of course, that may be very secondary to footprint and additional improved friction from all the little sipping found on ATs but not necessarily found on MTs. Certainly love the BFG AT tire - they have ended up on most of our 4wd DDs over the years. I would love to have them on the 58 - ended up going a bit more budget with a set of on sale Hankooks from ebay for too good of a deal. Maybe one day when the suspension is lifted etc...

I wouldn't doubt the AT's are somewhat harder compound. They were originally offered as a "Baja" tire. That said I think my DC Extreme Country's were pretty hard. In radials I'm not sure there's much difference in compound.
Watching the locker stocker guys zip around on ndt's those bias things really bulge at low psi and are quite soft ( I think) you still couldn't give me a set.
Everything is way backordered online despite what is advertised. I got many a dear john email after ordering. Km2 are gone, all the km3 , Mickey Thompson etc all currently unavailable. Plus I have the bad taste of having the DC line killed off, wanted something that would be available at least next year ( roll eyes) I wanted Mickey Thompson but they were being made by Cooper as was DC. Cooper now bought by BFG so I wouldnt be surprised to see some MT killed off in streamlining.

Goodyear owns Cooper. The only American tire company left.

Goodyear then, get the 2 mixed up.
Lockman, everybody shows everything in stock. Because I spent so much time looking for DC's the ads on my phone are touting them as new and available at WalMart.

Yeah I buy Coops because they are manufactured right here in good ol' USA....until Goodyear manages to screw up the Cooper brand like they did with their own brand.
