Picked this up for $300, its a 72. Drivetrain was basically complete (304, T15/D20). Looks like it has some parts that I can use, like a mostly uncut dash with heater controls, idiot lights etc. Wish I had found this two months ago as it has some stuff I recently bought used but that's how it goes I guess.

Frame and body is shot but I am going to cut up and salvage what I can. I'm thinking of cutting off the front 5 or so inches of the frame and fenders, welding it all to the grill and hanging it on the wall of the garage. I'd cut the hood too but its in good shape so I may just sell it instead. Anyone else ever do anything like that?

There are all kinds of ideas and pics on the internet. Maybe a search for "Jeep art" or similar. Recently I saw a pic of a CJ that had been cut off right behind the cowl and the whole front end turned into a bbq. There was an axle of some sort under the front with Jeep wheels and tires and it was towable with a hitch from what we would consider the back.

Poor thing. Wrong color for a '72.

IF you got a vin and a title, you've at least got your money worth just there. You can make a bench out of the front grill. Just use the grill as a back for the seat.

Drivetrain and heater controls alone are worth more than $300. Good Score. I often wonder what set of circumstances led to a Jeep ending up like that. Sigh...
