I have been trying to buy a T90 to bolt to my 231 buick to replace my grenaded t14.

My question is if the Tranny came from a cj5 with a v6, then what issues will arise as far as fitment and the like. The two I am concidering the hardest (both from this Board) One has the adapter and came from the above w/d18.

I cannot see any reason that this would not just bolt up, Any Ideas??

Cj's with v6's never came with a t90, they were all either t86's or t14's.

Right it is my asumption that the tranny's I am looking at are previous conversions.

I know the t-90 is not a fantastic tranny, but they are cheap and do not cost 500.00 for an adapter to get the Tcase to work.

I cannot locate a t-14 anywhere around here.

The t90 will only require teh front adapter, bellhousing, bearing retainer, seal for retainer, and the pilot bushing. You will need the GM fork and the throwout bearing. The T14 to V6 had a bellhosuing ith an adapter cast onto it. If you have a two piece setup, then you will keep the bellhosuing. But you should be able to find the adapter and bellhousing pretty frequently. I think alot of times they are also labeled as Chevy covnersion adapters, but i think they are the same adapter, but the bellhousing is differnt The fork, and throwout bearings you can get anywhere. If you get an adapter and have no bearing retainer you can contact Eric at Novak and he can guide to what retainer to use. Usually they are GM car reatainers. He pretty much knows all the adapters that were made and can help you out. The Dana 18 will bolt up to the T90 so no adapter is needed there.

Nope, only the 71 v6/t14 combo model had that special belhousing, all other years using the t14 had a cast iron adapter to mount it to the bellhousing!!
