Fuel Pump Arm Recovery

    Since my cj would not pump its own fuel, I decided to pull the pump off and replace it. Upon removal I notice part of it missing. Any ideas on how to recover the missing piece before it does something really bad in there? I did look in the hole and couldn't WP_20160622_001.jpg see it.

    You could try a telescoping magnet stick, but chances are you'll have to pull the timing cover to get the piece out. I'd think you'd want to anyway just for a piece of mind that it didn't already chew anything up. I don't think the opening into the oil pan is big enough for that piece to fit through, luckily (hopefully).

    You are going to want to open it up anyway. What broke that arm on the pump in the first place?
