    i have installed a black diamond 3" spring kit on my 71 recently with 33x12.50 m/t baja claws. i was wondering what would be the best way to fix the ross steering setup since now it has put extreme angles on the tie rods. has anybody fabbed a drop bracket for the bellcrank before? that would level out the tierods back. i have bought new components including bellcrank, draglink but a lot of the other items i need are only made for the 4 cyl. any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

    You could switch to a one piece tie rod. At least then your toe in wouldn't change evey time you compressed the suspension....

    I too have a bump steer/toe in issue and was considering using these bushings to flip the tie rod ends to the top of the knuckle to reduce bump steer and level out the linkage, that way you wouldn't have to fab a lowering bracket for the bellcrank.
    Scroll down on this link and look at the tie rod bushings;

    The lowering bracket would not work anyway, the drag link is not adjustable enough to account for the extra length that woul be needed, not to mention the extra leverage that would then be placed on the bellcrank making the steering even sloppier than they already are. The one piece tie rod tube, the flipped tierods or saginaw is all thats possible to fix this.

    i'd start out with the one piece tie-rod that patrick showed, but i currently have my rod ends flipped with the inserts that willysnut showed. believe it or not they're flatter now than they were stock.

    all you do is drill the tapered hole out and put those back in it. I found that they were a little bit too long for my knuckle so i had to cut them down a bit, but it still works. the only thing that makes me a little apprehensive about it was that i lost the cotter pin that kepps everything from coming loose every not and then.... but if it's tight enough and has enough lock tite that shouldn't happen anyway.
