I have to disagree about all f4 jeeps having 1310s in the front shaft. My 67 and other 66+ CJ5s I have seen had the small ujoints, just like the v6 models. Which means that yes Wheelie, f4 and v6 jeeps would use the same D27 yoke.

Interesting. I don't recall ever seeing a I4 with the small yoke. Something else to watch for.

Good news is that, after work, I stopped by to check on my front axle that's being set up for me. I measured the yoke I gave him and, it appears to be the correct Dana 27 yoke. Measures about 3 1/4 in height and looks like the longer one in Nick's picture. I wasn't sure what I gave him and was worried that I put a dana 44 or 30 yoke in the box, at the time having no knowledge of the difference in length.

I love being a part of this site and learning all the cool things you guys know. Thanks.

I know I’m replying to an old post but I’m wrestling with this problem now. I have a 1966 Dana 27 front axle from a CJ5 with V6 engine. I’m trying to mate this with a Dana 18 transfer case/transmission from a 4 cylinder 1946 Willys. I have the front driveshafts from both vehicles but one has 1310 joints at both ends and the other has the smaller 1100 joints at both ends. I also have the front axle yokes from both vehicles. What do I need to do to mate the 66 small joint axle with the 46 large joint transfer case/transmission?
