Just started thinking of buying the revolver shackles for increased articulation. I've heard pretty good things about them but wanted to get opinions from y'all. Anyone ever use them? If so, what did you think? I'm looking for a bit more articulation as I frequently raise a wheel which causes problems for me on the trail.

One time at band camp...I mean on the trail, my spotter told me the trick to making it up one particular climb with a ledge was more articulation and I didn't have it. I would have prefered he talked bad about my mom than that....anyway, I figure these may give me the flex I'm looking for.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Casey

I've got them on my 84 CJ7. They give a kinda wierd ride on the street. If you apply to much skinny petal it feels like the shackles are trying to open up. It's not bad, just takes some getting used too, kinda like driving with a locker. You need to remember that extra articulation means stuff like shocks and brake lines can seperate. Hope this helps.

    Well worth it.
But like Robert said you need to test shocks and brakelines.
Also you should check your driveshaft as well.
Most Jeeps around here that run them only rears so its not as big of a driveshaft killer, but check for binding.

Thanks for the advice. I've got extended brake lines so I don't think that would be a problem. I'm sure I'd have to replace shocks though.

My Jeep is not a daily driver so I'm not so concerned with streetability. I installed a locker in the rear and I know what you mean about that. It drives much differently with the locker.

Any ideas on where I could get the best deal on them? 4WD Hardware has them for my Jeep for $189 a pair. They are usually a bit high. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks again for the responses.
