Again....Like a super huge goof I got rid of my rear tank brackets from my 1973. I am wanting to fab a new set up from some strip stock.

Does any one know the distance between the two bent legs? It should be circled here in orange from a pic I nabbed from the net. Any one have some of these laying around they can measure for me? I would greatly appreciate it.

Same as what 72/73 Commando uses. Didn't get a chance tonight but I'll get some dimensions tomorrow if someone beats me to it.

My bad. The side brackets are slightly different because of the frame width. Commando have an extra bend the CJ don't have. I'll have a look and see if the amount of drop looks the same as in the picture.

Someone with an intermediate should be able to look under the Jeep and measure. I don't think they are completely blocked from view. I can take a look later if I get home before dark.

Ok, not much chance to look at this.

Tonight I went out to measure this. I had to put my hand up in there to feel the bracket. The Z-bracket sits on top of the top frame raill. There is about 1/8' of clearance from the bottom of the bracket and the upper surface of the bottom rail of the frame. Measure the distance between the top edges of the frame rails, and subtract the thickness of the frame rail plus 1/8", and that's the drop of the bracket.

    hth!
