what power steering pumps would fit? saginaw should have pumps that would fit many vehicles. 4 wheel drive hardware has a complete kit for $1320. would like to stay a lot cheaper. how about doner jeeps? what would fit?

That thread is a great reference for '71 and earlier, but it won't help for a '77.

From '72 on, CJs got Saginaw steering from the factory. Mostly you bolt the parts on.

All you need is a bracket, pump, hoses, sometimes a bottom crank pulley and power box off any donor that has the same motor. J truck, wagoner, Pacer, Gremlin, AMX and so on. Easy bolt-on affair. Usually less then $100 if you have a local pull-a-part. If you pull it yourself you will also have all the necessary fasteners. There are two style of hoses that broke right about 1980 depending on the OEM with earlier being a flare fitting and later using an o-ring fitting if you need to mix and match boxes and pumps. All but the pump brackets are available new on Rockauto.

Look for a Grand Wagoneer. Almost all have 360s with power steering, and you can pick all the engine-side parts you need.

Might help to put your location in your signature.

You could try the Wagoneer forums, fsjnetwork.com and ifsja.org - there are always cars there that are being parted out.

The Wagoneer steering gear will work too, but you will need the bell coupling from a CJ Jeep with PS - available aftermarket. Jeep 998710.
