74 Cj5 Brake Proportioning Valve Replacement

    Hi Folks,
    Am wiring up my 74 with a painless harness. Original proportioning valve had a switch with two posts.
    Picked up a replacement valve but it only has a single post connection. Can the new valve be used with the single post connection. I would assume it works via connecting the ground in the circuit. Am I off base?
    I am sure more questions will be forthcoming as I venture into the dash wiring.
