I'm changing my spring bushings. My old bushings had inner and outer steel sleeves.
My new Energy Suspension bushings do not have the outer sleeve.
They measure right to press in so I'm thinking it's not a big deal except the eyes on the springs are far from being round due to the fact that the bushings should have been changed 25 years ago.
Do I need to look for bushings with the outer sleeve?

Not a stupid question. Depends on how badly worn the spring eyes are. Both kinds of bushings, the rubber and steel "silent block" type and the urethane type, are meant to work in spring eyes that have not been badly worn by steel-to-steel contact. The silent blocks might be better for you if the spring eyes are badly worn ... you are going to have to use your judgement.

Thanks, I'll try it with what I have. If it doesn't work out its not a big deal to swap them out. Or maybe find some smaller bushings and sleeve the spring eyes.

Another possibility might be the solid bronze (or bronze-like) bushings like these shackles. Omix-Ada HD Shackle Kit

Those look like they might be a definite possibility.
I'm already making my own shackles , will have to look around the shop and see what we have for bronze laying around.
