What have you guys done for a steering box brace with Saginaw power? I realize every conversion isn't the same, just looking for ideas. I'm positive my Jeep would benefit from a brace. Pics?

I bought one from a later CJ and modified the end that mounts to the frame.

Mine is on a manual box but you get the idea. It has a threaded block hidden in the frame to hold the right end and I made the clamp for the box on the other.

I made one almost exactly like this one. Give it a year or two and it will break where you flattened the tube to attach to the passenger side. I was told that I needed a pivot point on the frame end that mirrors the pivot (bolt through clamp) at the steering box. I did that and haven't had any issues in the last 6 years. Believe it or not, the frame horns do move slightly relative to each other from flexing on the trail and that slight amount of movement will fatigue the end attached to the frame and it will eventually crack. Look at tarry99's brace and you will see how it's properly done.

I agree with Posimoto. Which is why I used two Ball Ends so there would be flex in any direction at least for a few degrees. I also tried to keep the brace as square and parallel to the motion I wanted to stop in the output shaft on the steering box.

I can see what you guys are saying. It is not square because I used the flattened part of the tube that the manufacturer put on it.
It is down and dirty. Looks like another project to do.
