i just put my rebuilt axle back under the rear end, i connected the brake lines back up and tried to bleed them. i came to find that i had no fluid or air comming out of the bleed valves. i had my friend pump her leg off and hold the pedle down but still nothing, front brakes work though. do i just need to pump more or should i start looking for a new master cylinder?? help

Did you use a brake spoon to tighten the rear brakes up prior to pumping them?

    Did you do this?

Pedal down, Bleed open, bleed shut, pedal up.

    Repeat.

i didnt have a brake spoon, i did it as best i could by hand.
i think she held the pedal down till i closed the valve....not entirely sure
the front brake section of the master cylinder did its fountain thing but the rear didnt, is that just cause theres no pressure?

Is there any fluid in the front portion of the MC? If not there must be a leak.

i refilled it after i hooked all the lines back up, it was empty. once i filled it the fluid level didn't seem to go down at all.

Try loosening the rear line at the MC and see if you can get fluid to come out. It might be a restriction in the line somewhere.

There may be an air pocket in the MC. It might be easier to remove the MC and bench bleed it and go from there.

A vacuum bleeder available from FLAPS will make short work of it if it is trapped air, only needs one person to operate. eliminates the possibility of the peddal operator letting up on the pedal during the bleed which will just reintroduce air through the bleeder. :coffee:

Make certain you have all brakes "Spoon adjusted" to the same amount!

Make sure you have the self ajusters correctly installed or the shoes will wear unevenly
