Hey there... maybe a member has some insight to my issue? 1967 cj 5 231Ev with new 3222 fuel gauge and new non return fuel line 6 bolt sender for under seat tank. NEW DEDICATED grounds from tank and instrument cluster to neg of jeep. Ohm reading at cluster while testing the grounded sender outside tank is 0-10 empty 45ish 1/2 70ish full! Why does the fuel gauge only show 5/8 max and plusing at 5/8s... i guess the plusating is the CVR? Anyways i have sender moved and swipped to max resistance full why wouldnt it show this in gauge??? Do I need to calibrate the range of the gauge via that screw??? Is the 3222 fuel gauge and non fuel line return sender not able to read each other??? Im LOST!! Help!!! Howard's gauge write up might help... cant find.
    Thanks Jesse

Oh ya what when i first turn ign on gauge starts at full and falls to sender reading but always below plusating 5/8s mark uhhh

The instrument voltage regulator should not be pulsing so slowly you can see the needle move- the only time I've ever seen that I had the gauge wired up the wrong way- 12 volts to the post that should have been the regulated voltage out to the temp guage.

So who is the manufacturer of this 3222 fuel gauge? Google sez it's a pressure line. So I take it that with the key OFF, the gauge reads full.

Hey there, thanks for getting back! FIXED So i did all the research on the ins and outs of the gauge and sender, the importance of GOOD grounds !!... I found Howard's awesome write up on the workings of gauge... Instrumentation rocks LOl
The only thing different that i did to gauge after described the prob here, was to tighten or maybe loosen the fuel gauge point contact screw. Works perfect now after playing with it 1/2.... with no smoke show!!!! Full movement from e-f by me manipulating the sender, actually very quick response for a repro gauge just have to bend and set the float arm and dial it in. As well i grounded temp post and it too quickly swiped over to hot reading. Awesome
    Once again thanks J
