One of my gas caps bounced off and I want to make sure I order the right one. I think it's a "wide mouth" cap the tangs are all the way at the edge of the neck. The other tank has a cap with the tangs further in from the edge (see photos). Thanks in advance for any feedback.

You might have to do some measuring to describe what cap you need. Where do you plan to order one from?

What you need a cap for appears to be a standard CJ5 tank, but measurements would definitely clarify the matter.

I put a Stant 10625 that is 1 7/8" diameter on the tank under the seat and a Stant 10623 on my rear tank that is 1 1/2" diameter. Hope this helps. Tom

It appears to be a standard CJ5 gas tank, which I'm sure Tom Hartz has. If you haven't already gotten one his part number should work for yours.
