Three different parts stores, and no success, as well googling myself blind-
anyone have a part number and source for the six bolt gasket?

Im amazed at the level of competence on this board-which is diametrically opposed to the lack of it exhibited by the average counter dude...
after explaining i needed the non-HD standard manual 3 speed trans top gasket got my 74 cj5 each one asked me if it was an automatic...
    pray for these guys lol

    Jeep number is 991089
but they are easy to make
place half piece of manila folder over the transmission; hold in place and tap with ball peen hammer
the imprint including the bolt locations will be easy to see
    trim/cut excess with scissors

Make one like jpflat2a said or go to a transmission supply house that deals with old manual transmissions. Many of the Jeep parts suppliers should be able to get it. I know Crown makes gasket kits for these. Regular parts houses are unlikely to have a listing for a transmission only used from roughly '68 to '75. If you think about it, the newest application for that specialized part is 40 years old...
