Well I have been reading and reading rather than posting and posting:rofl:
So far I have replaced the motor mounts, alt, volt reg, carburator with a new motorcraft unit, rewelded the rusty/broken overdrive lever. Overall making good progress however in tracking down the tickety tack sound that I thought was a rocker arms is in fact a very loose timing chain. Do I have everything I need before I dive in? please advise me if I have missed anything:D The motor is already tired and I fear a high output pump will probably create leaks everywhere.

It's probably a T-14. Pic of other side of tranny would tell.

They have a habit of breaking the timing chain tension spring.. Mine did the same and took forever for me to figure out.. Unfortunately for me it did ugly things to the gears and chain as well as the cover.. I hope you fare better.
