Okay Gentlemen, I'm coming down to the final stretch and trying do do some final touches, upgrades and even some "comfort items". Since I do not have a "six-pack" anymore and thee seats don't adjust back another inch, I am thinking about steering wheel replacement. The original 17" monster wheel that's on there now needs to go. I don't want to go too small so I was thinking maybe a 14 1/2" or 15" with a dish offset of some kind. I have looked on the Grant website and saw a few I liked but I am no expert. Here it is, a nice black leather or vinyl cushioned wheel that has a bit more circumference in the grip, spoke count 3 with a nice matte black or nickle finish. So being I am a member of the best Jeep forum on the net, I know I'll have lots of ideas.

Gentleman.............not really sure I fit that category , but I will respond just the same.............First Problem is that no aftermarket wheel will fit the old stock Ross column or spline arrangement or let me rephrase that...........at least I have never found one. I looked at cutting up that old column and spline but the horn wire and how to attache it to a conversion steering wheel old versus new was just another issue.

Since my 6-pack was also now gone I had Flaming River do me a small tube (to fit the dash) no frills tilt column in Black that closely resembled the original one. In the photo that is a 14" Grant wheel....Problem solved.

Grant makes an adapter kit that will fit the Ross Steering column. Part number 4405

    http://www.summitracing.com/parts/grt-4405

I cut up my old column to adapt it for power steering and used the above kit. No issues. My only regret is the steering wheel I bought turned out to be 13.5" and, although I am no where near driving my rig at this point, I am already wishing I would have bought a 14 or 15 inch one. I just have a feeling this one is going to be too small for my tastes. Time will tell… I the rate I'm going it is going to be a LONG time before I get to use it.

Wow see we all learn something............never knew they made those kits. Or maybe it was the guy behind the counter that sold me the Grant wheel without that option? Who cares I like my Tilt.
