Nice, I think I will copy it, Did you put sleeves in the holes where it bolts to the bumper? When it is all the way open what limits the travel? The thing is rigid enough with no top attachment that the tire doesn't vibrate?
    Thanks for your help.

Could you give some dimensions? Length of cross piece, Length of cross piece ctr of jeep to hinge pivot. Length of vertical piece? Wouldn't mind discussing on phone.

Thanks, I looked a the later model after market ones and adapted the idea to mine. I did not put sleeves in the attachment bolts probably not a bad idea. They are out towards the edge of the tubing ( I think it is .09 thick a little overkill) and it does not have a lot of load on it . The tire does not seem to vibrate that I have noticed. But I do not do a lot of high speed driving on rough roads either.
I have the bolt fairly tight so it is a friction fit. and that limits how far you have to push it open

The length of the cross piece is 42" long
The pivot is 24" from the center of the jeep
The height of the upright bar is 19" from the bottom of the tube. I sized this for a 31" tall tire.

You can e-mail me your # at harkins4930@gmail.com and I will give you a call

Greevasman, the spare tire carrier on MrgreenJeeps was made by Bestop. I have a sales brochure I will post tomorrow.
