Has anyone ever swapped Toyota rear pickup springs onto the rear of their cj5? I have a set of springs from an 86 Toyota pickup... They are roughly 2.5" wide and about 1" longer than my cj springs. I think they would ride much better and give me a small lift in the rear. My cj5 is a 79... Thanks!

I have not done Toyota springs but I know a couple people who have done XJ Cherokee and Dodge Dakota springs. They seem happy with them.

Yeah it seems like it would be similar to a Dakota spring. It wont really cost me anything to try it so when it warms up I might see how they ride. They seem softer than my cj springs but then again they were meant to hold the weight of the trucks cargo....I guess its worth a shot. I can always o back to stock if I don't like them. Thanks for the advice!

I've read a lot about Yota guys putting the rears up front on their trucks, so they must worth using... If you're building custom mounts metric vs standard wouldn't be an issue...

There was somebody on here a couple of years ago who put toyota springs on his 5, but I can't remember who, seems like he was in California. I'll see if I can find the thread.
