Spring is almost here time to start ordering parts for the willys. Could any of you tell me where to order front seats for a 1962 willys. My frames are in great condition just need the seats new or used.

Try Quadratec (quadratec.com) or Krage (jeepdoc.com). I have ordered from both. Krage has a shipping charge by $, not weight, and that is worth considering. There is also a guy selling rear seats on ebay all the time (parts and accessories>CJ seat), and of course you can get some new zippy seats on ebay.

There are no aftermarket seats that are direct bolt-on for the passenger side, to my knowledge. The drivers side should, but PS will require a custom adapter of some sort. If you want the fold-and-tumble PS seat you will need to recover an original pair of seats (assuming they need it). Post in the wanted to buy section if you want some originals and see if someone has some they are willing to get rid of.

4wd hardware (www.4wd.com) has replacement seats as well. Consider taking your frames to a local upholstery shop as well.

IIRC a 1962 wouldn't have a fold and tumble PS seat - at least SSDutch came w/o that style. The seat hinged forward, but the seat back is fixed.

Stan - are you looking for comfort, originality, price...??

    Sorry,
I should be clearer on the aftermarket seats. The '76+ driver side will directly bolt up. John's directions are for the P/S seat.

    Pick two out of three...;)

When you say "frames", what exactly do you have?

The besttop lowbacks will look "originalish" and are reasonably priced, but for me weren't very comfortable - the backs just caught me wrong.

    Here's what I did:

Maybe you can find some of those same upholstery kits?

I have original frames the pass. side sits over the tool box and fold forward the drivers side sits over the fuel tank and is bolted I have no foam left some one used egg crate foam and pillow covers. But that hurts the butt.I would like to have seats like it came with. Iguess I am fussy original, comfy and cheap.

If you want original, comfy, and CHEAP, the covers like mike's will be your only option. This guy regularly has "seat covers" on ebay. Seems like most go for ~$75. Might try a local upholstery shop, but the ones I have checked want $100/seat. You can get high-density foam at some craft stores, or maybe check an upholstery shop.
