T90 4cyl vs V6 bearing retainers

    Well the other week I posted that the new retainer I order was wrong so I ordered anther from a Diff company and got the same wrong one. So then I went and replaced the fork still its no good. So heres my question the whats the diff between the 4 and v6 retainers? The ones that I ordered the ball comes mounted on the wrong side(not a problem just switch sides) and the hole for the pivot ball is a FULL quater inch lower then the one that was on it. This causes the fork to hit the bell housing. Im hoping the PO switched the tranny out of a v6 and maybe all I need to do is find a v-6 bearing retainer. Any Ideas ? I hate to buy the wrong part again .Another question that might answer my question is whats the diff between the 4cyl bellhousing and the V6 bell? Thanks

    I know that the V6 and F4 bearing retainers on the T90 and T86 are totally different. The V6 retainer is longer to accommodate the longer input shaft.

    if you have a t90, you will need the retainer that will go with the adapter. the original T90 retainer will not work. Alot fo the adapters used GM automobile bearing retainers. I think they are turned down a bit to fit in the bellhousing. No loss though you can get them. Contact Novak, he is very very good at adapters. The GM adapter then worsk fine with the V6 throwout bearings and the V6 fork. You get these and you are golden.
