Dim Charging Light

Have a '69 with a V6 - daily driver. I have been trying to get the very dim lit charging light to go out. Light is bright prior to turning over the key and battery stays strong - no charging issues.Volt meter reads 14.1 at startup then gradually drops to about 13.5. The charging light stays barley lit all the time and I'm out of guesses. Changed alternator (interior regulator) - changed wires - battery is good.

Any suggestions besides don't look at the light?

I think you are right, don't look at the light, It's basicly a resistance circuit that tells the alternator to work. Your voltages are in the correct range. If the light gets bright while you are driving, then you have a problem.
Battery stays charged, so don't worry about it.
I did go out and fire up my '61 3B with the V6 conversion, I could barely see the dim glow from the light, even in the dark out there, so, I think it is a don't mess with it situation.

    nickmil In mothballs.

Sounds suspiciously like a weak/leaking diode in the rectifier.

On bright sunny days I could not see the charging light and did not like the oil light. I installed separate gages for both. Also, while installing them I installed a power receptacle. (just in case-not sure why)

Many guys replace the light bulb with a standard dash bulb. The resistance of the dash bulb is different from the alt/oil bulbs. Install the proper one and you will be good. Original bulb was TS53.
