Well my son was driving the jeep around and he says that the brakes went to the floor, fluid was coming from under the backing plate.
So i go to his apartment and find all lug nut studs on the passenger side were loose, was able to get all but one of the lug nuts loose.(spins) all studs? i have never heard of this -is this common?
Any suggestions? If i am able to get the last lug nut off by splitting the nut what would i need to do first -remove backing plate right - i have never done this any suggestions would be great-full.
When it rains it pours, brakes only i thought - now brakes and backing plate studs.

The wheel stud is spinning? It's located in the spindle, not the backing plate. If the hole is wallowed out too much you might have to replace the spindle. However, I believe you can get wheel studs with slightly larger shoulders that might work. I haven't done it so don't have any other part numbers to give you. Of course it sounds like the brake wheel cylinder needs replacing too. If it were me I'd check and possibly replace all four wheels brake cylinders at this time...at the minimum I'd do both front.

Actually the studs are pressed into the wheel hub, not the spindle.
This isn't a common problem-my guess is that the lug nuts came lose and he continued driving for awhile. Plan on replacing the hub and studs as well as fixing the brake issue.
