Interesting notations on the body and frame. I see a battery tray on the frame, no battery box lid on the cowl, no indentation on the passenger side (however no JEEP either), dash apparently changed so who knows on that. I do see the early hinged grill. Hmmmmm.

I realized I should have noted I am not referring to the original posters pictures but these later ones above this post.

Must be geographical, theres no such thing as a solid Jeep around here for $1k.

Ive asked for additional photos, but I guess the seller has been too busy to sell it.

Great input and information here, thanks again.

Where are you located? That definitely does make a difference. Don't be too broken hearted if you don't get this one since you want as original as you can get. ;)

    I like the OD V6...

Not a correct air cleaner for a stock '66.

Somewhere out there is a '66 CJ5 Tux with a '69 body and fenders bright orange. My old '66.

    Im in Indiana, northern Indiana.

I guess as I age I like the more original vehicles. Something just cool about a stock little CJ5.

My wife might actually ride in it if its not too dirty, noisy or stinky.

Theres a 66 Tux here, mostly original unfortunately its all apart and the tub looks like its shot.

I was lucky and found a '66 and my wife said "yes". It is almost totally stock. No brakes and transmission problems. It cost almost half the total price to ship it here from Mississippi. It is still the best price including shipping I have seen for a '66 stock V6 CJ5 in 6 years. There is some rust, but not a lot.

Post some pics of this '66 Tux and we will be glad to give you our .02 cents. Bodies can be found. If it is a Tux it may be worth saving...
