Help me settle a bet with a friend..
I need to replace the valve stem seals on a 64 F134 engine. Have not started yet, but my friend thinks the
seal goes on the valve stem between the valve guide and the valve spring retainer......
I believe it goes on the stem between the valve spring retainer and the retainer lock, like the FSM states..
    Who wins the 100 bucks??
    Thanks

You posted this same question about "O" ring on 8-14-14 and was answered by oldtime via thread #21 so I saw no reason to re-hash. Maybe others thought the same.

I am absolutely positive that the "o" ring seal sets on top of the spring retainer and below the split locks.
It does not ride nor slide up and down the valve stem somewhere under / inside the spring.
