i would have used base clear if they had a formula for it at the supplier. back in the day i would have mixed it myself but no longer have access to the tint rack...base clear is more forgiving for future repairs.

That is a heck of a job. Single stage metallic is no joke to get like that. Boss told me back in the day you would shoot on your color and manually add metal flake then bury in laquer. He had a jar leftover. sounds ridiculous. Nice paint!

needed to figure out the defroster vent as the yj box is higher on the firewall than an intermediate,so i used some scrap and fabbed one up.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Taking small steps forward and larger ones back under the dash to neaten wiring found a leaky clutch master never even been on the road yet. Ordered a replacement for the defective new part three to five days sheesh. But lights and directionals work.

Finished the wiring on the front headlights markers and running lamps used relays for the headlights and wired them so low and high beams can be on at the same time A few more accessories to wire then it's just the carb and distributor and watch out.

Really nice. I appreciate your sharing your thoughts on single stage vs base-clear. As a hobbyist, when I see single stage metallic come out as nice as yours I am tempted to try it. When you say you would have gone base clear if it was available, I get a clue about what I should probably do.

More little steps battery tray in and 90 percent wired. Had to change the wiper motor wich led to broken bolts on the windshield frame. Drilled the rocker guards and tub waiting on paint to dry for the final install. Kinda planning a Christmas Day delivery if it all goes well.
